Membership at the Vibe is based on one thing: are you willing to do whatever it takes to stay sober? If so, join us. We are changing the way sobriety looks, and we love it. We showed up in San Marcos like a wrecking ball, a good one, but we made some noise. We had never done anything like this. We just built this place. We were initially met with resistance but are now embraced by the entire town.
We are productive members of society. We work in the mental health industry. We volunteer. We go to therapy. We hit our meetings. We pay our bills, and we advance - one foot in front of the other., one day at a time.
We are more than sober - we are in recovery.

My name is Stephanie Ramirez-Pelletier. I am 7 years sober and have been on the recovery path for the past 10 years. I have worked in and around this industry for the entire time. I love/hate it. Anytime you put human suffering and profit together, you get a mess. Investors and Insurance make treating people more like treating numbers. It all gets so messy. In turn, I don't believe we are getting very far. It is just a BIG, exhausting circle of detox, rehab, sober living, back to detox... I feel strongly that where someone lands after sober living matters. But so many don't have credit or have a criminal record. This lands them in bad neighborhoods or back where they started. Then, back to detox...and the cycle continues...
The goal at the Vibe is to take people who have found what's working for them and teach them to survive in a sober community with regular bills, life stresses, relapse prevention tools, and structure.
We have worked tirelessly to build something different, new, and outside of the box. Our membership pricing ranges from $700-$1100 per month. We offer shared apartments with others in long-term recovery (long-term being at least six months sober and committed to staying the course).
To the mom, grandma, dad, sister, and brother reading this for your loved one - I feel you. I have spent years searching for help from my friends. I've sat bedside after a loved one's stroke suffered from addiction. I have buried many friends. I have been both an addict and the mother of one. I can tell you, hands down. that loving a person with addiction is way more complicated and heartbreaking than being an addict, 100%. I get the desperation, the prayers, and the money spent. I also have learned the hard way that until they want it, it's not going to happen. The applicants at the Vibe need to want this for themselves. We are a volunteer-run community and don't have staff to do crisis care or support the early months of sobriety.
shared room
We work hard to make each house feel like a home. The spaces are fully furnished and ready to live in. Because of this, we tend to stay away from shared bedrooms. We do, however, know that sometimes people need help getting started. We have two apartments that have shared rooms at $700 a month. That's a large bedroom you will share with another adult. Twin bed, dresser, bedding, and essential setups are provided. Once you are established and ready, you can graduate to a single room. Two of these shared bedrooms are available.
private room
Our apartments are three-bedroom, two-bath apartments with fireplaces and in-unit washers and dryers. They are fully furnished and ready to live in. Each member has a room, shared common areas, and shared chores. You pay $1100 a month. That's $900 for rent and $200 for WiFi, water, electricity and sober living programming. We report payments and help build a rental history. When you leave, our goal is that your credit, job stability, and mental health are better than you ever dreamed.
